Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
LEED certification in the City of Bloomington
Several recent construction projects have achieved, or are in the process of achieving,
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, including three Class A
office towers and a high-end multi-unit residential development. The projects are:
-
Reflections, two 17-story residential towers at Bloomington Central
Station. This is the first residential LEED-NC (new construction) certified project in
Bloomington.
-
Duke Realty's Norman Pointe II office tower, near Highway 100 and I-494.
Certified LEED-CS (Core and Shell).
-
United Properties' 8200 Norman Center Drive office tower, currently under
construction. Expected to be LEED-CS certified when completed.
-
Ryan Companies' Marketpointe II office building near France Avenue and
I-494. The development is aiming to achieve LEED gold level certification.
-
Quality Bicycle Products' distribution center and industrial warehouse
expansion project. This project achieved LEED gold level certification in 2007. The project
also included a 40-kilowatt solar panel array - the largest installation in the Upper
Midwest at the time of installation.
